In Internet-enabled applications and services, an add-on manager is the term
used to describe the management tab or section in application that stores
information about installed add-ons (products designed
to complement another product). An add-on manager can be accessed by the
application user to set preferences and options for using add-ons. Some common
applications that use add-on managers include AOL's AIM instant messenger and
Firefox.
