Short for the Internet Streaming Media Alliance, a non-profit organization that furthers the specification of interoperability standards for streaming rich media over IPnetworks. According to the ISMA Web site, by “defining an interoperable approach for creating, transporting and viewing streaming media, content creators, product developers and service providers will have easier access to the expanding commercial and consumer markets for streaming media services.”
